My vision for this blog...
Well hey friends!
So, I'm not exactly sure about this quite yet, but why not give it a try?
My vision for this would be to keep people up-to-date with what's going on in my ministry and on occasion, my life. As I tend to be all over the place and hard to pin down anywhere.
I think The Lord has put me in a season of consistency and follow-through. Which hasn't been my strong suit as I've moved 3 times in the last year and a half. I think I have amazing models of what this really looks like in my Young Life leader and her husband who have been team-leading at Enumclaw High School for over 10 years. I'm striving to be that kind of consistent in the kids' lives that the Lord has put me in. I believe I've been called to McMinnville, Oregon, as random as that is, and my heart is happy and full when I'm spending time loving-on high school girls in Mac.
This summer alone, I've been on two camp trips with one more still to go! I should hold a freakin' record for the most amount of time spent at Young Life camps without being on assignment. (For any non-YL people reading, "assignment" means serving in some capacity at a Young Life camp for a month) The first trip was taking eight 6th grade girls to Breakaway Lodge in Gearheart, Oregon for Bellevue Young Life... Yeah, I don't lead in Bellevue I was just helping out some amazing friends, and the power couple who head up Bellevue Young Life, Todd and Lizzie O'Neill. Coincidentally enough, they needed another female leader to accompany me and the name the Lord put on my heart was none other than one of my best friends since high school, Sarah! Without hesitation, she agreed to come on a crazy spontaneous trip that may end in girls giving their lives to Christ at the end of "the best week of their lives." Sarah ended up falling in love with the girls and the ministry of WyldLife and has now spent some time further discipling these girls with plans to continue to do so. How amazing is THAT!? The fact that the Lord does nothing by chance or accident was made so clear to me in that and the verse Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I set you apart;"
came to my mind. The Lord is so crazy intentional in everything He does. He knew that Sarah needed to be at camp and would make an impact bigger than her or I can understand in the lives of these 6th graders lives. Craziness.
Which begs the question, have you experienced something you thought was nothing that seemed to be life-changing because Jesus had His hand in it? I'm curious. Tell me your story.

PS. I'll tell you about my absolutely unreal experience at Malibu in the next post.
